For 2023-2024 we will look to add men’s and women’s soccer, track and field and are considering other sports as demand dictates.

As we build out our athletics programs, JPG will bring in qualified coaches to lead our students in between-season skills camps that will condition and build a foundation for sports we intend to add in the near term.

Meet our Coaches

Girls Volleyball Head Coach

  • Kate has been an athlete from a young age, playing: soccer, basketball, softball, volleyball and gymnastics, before settling on volleyball in high school. She played on both my high school team as well as a club team throughout high school. She attended University of Denver for college where I double majored in Biology and Psychology and minored in Chemistry. After graduation Kate joined FOCUS (Fellowship of Catholic University Students) and spent the next several years with them, doing ministry on various college campuses across the country. She and her husband, Greg, have enjoyed co-coaching girls’ volleyball teams at their parish, St Thomas More, over the past several years.

Boys Basketball Head Coach

  • Aaron Beckman is a Denver native and grew up in the catholic school system. After attending Bishop Machebeuf High School, Aaron played football at the University of Saint Thomas in Minnesota. During his time home on breaks, he served as a varsity assistant for the Machebeuf boys basketball program, and then took up the head coaching position at Our Lady of Lourdes after graduating college, and has coached there for the last 3 years. Aaron is excited to make the jump to the high school level, and help JPG build a successful basketball program for many years to come.

Girls Basketball Head Coach

  • Jen (Jennifer) Finegan has appreciated the hard work, dedication, and life lessons that sports have taught her throughout her life. She is especially grateful that God used sports to bring her closer to Him and her Catholic faith and loves to inspire others to do the same. She was a former professional basketball player in Europe and won two national titles in Portugal and Romania. She played collegiately at Vanderbilt University and was a part of 4 NCAA appearances and 2 SEC Championships. Her greatest accomplishment and favorite team are with her husband, Patrick, and their one-year-old daughter, Eliana. Jen currently works for FOCUS – the Fellowship of Catholic University Students helping to transform this current culture into one of life for future generations.

Girls Basketball Assistant Coach

  • Maddie (Madison) Arend is grateful to serve the young women of JPG's basketball team and has found so much joy in teaching the sport, encouraging the athletes, and watching their virtue come to life as a coach. She has been involved in athletics for most of her life, playing basketball, soccer, and running cross country locally at JK Mullen High School, then joining the basketball team at the University of Portland in Oregon. Maddie is grateful for the support of her husband, Connor, as well as her two daughters, Gemma and Veronica.

  • James currently works full-time for FOCUS – the Fellowship of Catholic University Students as a manager in the Freedom Project department, a role he holds after having served as a campus missionary at Seton Hall University for four years. During that time, he served as FOCUS’s Team Director for two years while ministering to student-athletes in all sports. His passion for Catholic ministry in sports grew out of a deeper conversion he had while a track & field/cross-country student-athlete at the University of Pittsburgh. Counting his time there and in high school in the southeastern Pennsylvania region, he has been running competitively for 14 years, including a Boston Marathon finish in October 2021.
