A Message from the Athletic Director
Thanks for your interest in Mountaineer Athletics! We are building a world-class program, and we have recruited a select group of coaches who are experts in sport and disciples who love Jesus Christ. We will continue to add new sports, training programs, and facilities as our school grows. We need your skill and drive; feel free to reach out and discuss our program.
For 2024 we plan on adding soccer and track and field.
Watch this video to learn about the vision for athletics at St. John Paul the Great.

Connor O'Sullivan has had a distinguished high school basketball coaching career in Northern California, with a strong emphasis on player development and mentorship. Drawing inspiration from the John Wooden philosophy, Connor has focused on not just the physical aspects of the game but also on the holistic development of his players.
John Wooden, a legendary basketball coach, emphasized the importance of character, discipline, and teamwork, principles that Connor has integrated into his coaching style. Connor's approach involves rigorous training sessions that hone the technical skills of his players while also instilling values such as perseverance, integrity, and respect.
Connor's commitment to mentorship is evident in his personalized coaching methods. He takes the time to understand each player's strengths and areas for improvement, providing tailored guidance to help them reach their full potential. This individualized attention has not only improved the players' performance on the court but has also positively impacted their personal growth and academic achievements.
Under Connor's leadership, many players have gone on to excel in collegiate basketball, attributing their success to the foundational skills and life lessons learned during their high school years. His dedication to fostering a supportive and motivating environment has made him a respected figure in the Northern California basketball community.
Connor's coaching career is a testament to the enduring impact of John Wooden's philosophy, demonstrating that true success in sports comes from developing well-rounded individuals who are prepared for the challenges both on and off the court.
