JPG Sends Off First Class of Graduates

St. John Paul the Great has been making history this past month. After four years of mountaineers pioneering through the founding of JPG, 35 courageous graduates ended their time at St. John Paul the Great Catholic High School by celebrating the baccalaureate mass. Students put on their graduation robes and processed through the beautiful Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception downtown Denver.

It was an incredibly moving moment as the mass was celebrated by our chaplain, two of JPG’s board members, and Auxiliary Bishop Jorge Rodriguez. We were so grateful that Bishop Jorge was able to celebrate mass for our seniors, students, and their families.

It seems like just yesterday JPG opened its doors for the first time. The mass was such a surreal experience uniting our graduates to Christ in the eucharist as they embark on changing the world and being witnesses of Christ’s light.

The following day, under a beautiful blue Colorado sky, St. John Paul the Great Catholic High School made history, walking it’s inaugural graduating class across the stage to receive their diplomas. It was one of those rare days that exceeded every expectation. Attendees described it as one of the most meaningful and intentional graduation ceremonies they had ever witnessed. Our co-valedictorians, Francisco Salazar and Delaney Kearney, delivered addresses so powerful that multiple guests said surpassed anything they had heard at the college level. Father Brian Larkin, one of our founding visionaries and board members, gave a keynote address that moved every attendee.

What this founding class started - what they proved is possible - will carry every class that follows them. We are just getting started.

Pray for the Class of 2026 as they embark on the journey of their lives.
