Meet Colleen Pecha

When asked why she joined the JPG team, Mrs. Colleen Pecha shared the following:

Before we can begin any scientific study of the natural world, we have to accept three truths. First, we actually exist in reality as it is physically manifested. Second, God has created us with the ability to understand this reality. And third, God in His providence has deemed it right and good that we do so. Even in reading only the first few pages of the Bible, we can see proof of these truths: “Let us make man in our image…Let them have dominion…over all the wild animals and all the creatures that crawl on the ground…[God] brought them to the man to see what he would call them; whatever the man called each of them would be its name” (Gen 1:26, 2:19). Here at JPG we are free to teach the sciences in the only framework that gives them their fullest meaning and highest purpose. Seeking the truth of how matter interacts at the molecular level opens our eyes to the beautiful intricacies of God’s creation, of the depth of His design and love for us. Scientific investigation excites a truly wonderful curiosity in the world around us. This curiosity of formation and interaction naturally feeds into other spheres of education as well.

In 2011, I graduated from the University of Dallas with a B.S. in Chemistry, and, while I didn’t realize it at the time, God was preparing me for this unique opportunity. I was blessed to receive a classical education that included a rigorous study of the humanities and the sciences. The various disciplines of Literature, History, Theology, Philosophy, Languages, and the Natural Sciences perfectly complement one another and together give us the necessary education for the whole person to use in the service of God. This is the mission of John Paul the Great, and I am excited to be a part of it.
