Meet Kelly Doherty

My name is Kelly Doherty and I am very excited and honored to be part of the newly formed leadership team at St. John Paul the Great. I will be serving as Athletic Director. I look forward to implementing JP the Great's new athletic programs and making sure that a strong foundation is established for years to come. After attending All Souls grade school and Mullen High school I graduated from the University of Colorado. My career as an educator began at Christ the King school in Denver followed by a stop at St. Mary's of Littleton, where I served as a teacher and assistant principal. From there I was hired at Regis Jesuit Jesuit High School in 1994, where I served as assistant to the president and admissions director for 1 year. In 1995, still at Regis Jesuit, I was hired as athletic director and remained in that position until February of 2022.

I am married to my beautiful wife Catherine and have two incredible sons, Jack, who is 13, and Luke, who is 11. I am from a family of 7 and credit my amazing parents for instilling in me, my strong Catholic faith. I was drawn to St. John Paul the Great because of its beautiful Catholic vision. I very much look forward to our school's embrace of our Catholic traditions interwoven with strong academics and exciting co-curriculars. I am humbled to be part of this vision and look forward to taking part in establishing a great tradition.
